UN POCO DEL CHOCO RESEARCH STATION

This is a private reserve near Las Tolas on the west slopes of Ecuador at only two hours from Quito.  It is owed by a German-Ecuadorian couple and dedicated to research and education for biology students.  Now it is quickly becoming one of the hotest birding eco-tourism places in Ecuador where you can see the Banded-ground Cuckoo.  This bird is almost impossible to see anywhere else and it is now beeing feed daily at their gardens giving great views to all the birders with a Cuckoo gap in their bird list.
