It is located near to the Cordillera del Condor and next to the Nagaritza river at 900 MASL (2952 ft). The large Nagaritza river goes through large canyons and vast rainforest that make this river very attractive for exploring the adjacent forests and communities that live near the river banks. This far away place is home for the endemic Orange-throated Tanager which extends from the western slopes of the Cordillera del Condor to the Northern amazon in Peru.

The lodge has four private cabañas with hot water and larger rooms for up to eight people. All rooms have electricity, and the lodge has a great restaurant and offers laundry services. There are many good places to bird including the road between Las Orquideas and the lodge, and also the road between Shaime and the lodge. We spent three days at this remote location and observed a great number of birds.

The Condor Mountain Range is considered and IBA due to it´s great biodiversity and endemism (Birdlife IBA Factsheet EC083 - Cordillera del Cóndor).
